A Well-Deserved Getaway

My mom has had a friend from highschool that she has kept in contact with since. When we were younger we tried to keep in contact with them better, at least getting together once a year. She has four girls that are around the same age as both of us, but as we all have grown older our schedules have not allowed us to do so. My mom and I decided to do a girls weekend and thought what better way to do so than to spend it in the beautiful beach city of Cambria with them.

So we made the almost 5 hour trek to Cambria. But not without stopping at Anderson's for an awesome bowl of split pea soup of course!! We just couldn't resist!

We had no big plans on what to do with our friends other than visit and catch up. However, we did go on a lovely walk on the beach, explored the city, played the card game Nertz way too much (so fun!!), drank tea for every meal, and laughed and enjoyed each other's company. We had a very pleasant time with them. Here are some pictures of our time with this beautiful family.

What a view on our walk along the beach, ey??!!??

On this walk we saw some seals. Imagine that!

Saying good-bye to a fun, relaxing, blessed time with them was hard to do!

We decided to stay on Sunday night and leave on Monday morning, in order to really get the most out of our weekend getaway. So, we made the ride home fun for ourselves. We first stopped at this remote beach in Los Osos called, Montana De Oro. We walked to the beach

And look at what we saw. Here is a side view of the beach after we had walked to the far left of the beach.

Here is the view from the left side

And the view from the right side

If you are ever in the Los Osos area along highway 1, I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to go there, as you will not regret it. Didn't the beach just look absolutely beautiful??!!??

We next headed to the vibrant city of Santa Barbara to explore the mission. Both my mom and I had not seen that mission before, so we thought we would embrace the opportunity to see it. Here are a few pictures from our time there.

I thought this tree was absolutely amazing!

And these flowers!

We then concluded our trip, I believe, the best way we possibly could: withh a pedicure! It was so relaxing, and something we both don't do very often, so it was a good treat! This was our first mother/daughter retreat since my marriage in July (two more months to one year!!) and it was fun to be together, enjoy each other with just us girls. So nice. Looking forward to some more of these kind of weekends in the future. :)

Look at the results of our cute toes!

Hope you all have a great rest of the week with whatever is in store with your lives. I'm just looking forward to seeing my hubby this weekend in person, not virtually!! :D Take care!
